Genesis Pharms was founded by Sean and Kassy Beeman after Sean discovered the healing power of cannabis for himself. Sean was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. in 2005 and spent five years trying various treatments before his doctor told him that he had just a few more years to live. He then started treating himself using cannabis concentrate and just eleven months later his doctor told him that he was cured.
Genesis Pharms was established with a holistic approach to plant production and a dedication to growing practices that promote soil health, conserve natural resources and prevent environmental degradation. They grow a culture of plants that encourage beneficial bugs, and also help to diversify the soil’s ecological system. This way they are able to manage pest management in a completely natural way.
Each year they replenish their soil with crops grown on the property, leaving it unturned to allow for the spread of mycelium between the plants. This allows the plants to share vital nutrients and provides an effective means of water control.
They aim to optimize their farm to become fully self-sufficient. They make use of the latest technologies, together with natural processes, to produce a farm that feeds itself. They work hard to source anything that they may need locally, as locally sourced plants have already adapted to the soils and weather patterns of the farm’s location, the Willamette Valley.
In addition to growing premium cannabis for their products, the farm also grows and harvest traditional crops such as hops, tomatoes, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, beans, peas, cucumbers, corn, sunflowers, pumpkins and more.
They make use of the Certified King method of farming, it is an earth-friendly method rooted in the idea that the method of farming used is just as important as the crop. It is a private sustainable agricultural standard intended for state-sanctioned cannabis growers and processors who want to prove they are committed to earth kind production.
