Khush Kush is a family owned indoor farm in Bellingham, WA, with a strong focus on quality and transparency.

It is a small farm that pays a great deal of attention to genetics, top-shelf, pesticide free products and business transparency. It is owned by Sunny Saini and his parents, who immigrated to the US from India. A small group of experienced growers runs the farm, and it is a Tier II farm that is well known for its ingenuity, passion, and expertise at growing high quality cannabis.

It truly is a small farm and due to the size constraints they have had to fully maximize all of their available space. For example, the flowering rooms contain custom rolling tables that run the entire length of the building, which allows them to eliminate aisles between rows.

They have also had to adapt the standard model for cloning and pheno-hunting. Instead of having a special area where “mothers” grow into bushes, they have put together a system where cuttings are taken and the host plant is allowed to flower out with the rest of the crop. This means that they are continually moving, a new crop comes in and a harvest takes place every week.

All of the Khush Kush products are completely pesticide free thanks to the use of biocontrols such as beneficial bugs, and techniques including heavy defoliation (the removal of all but the largest, uppermost buds) to prevent contamination and mold. At any given time they have about fifteen strains growing, and in the past they have won awards such as the 2017 DOPE Cup for Best Indica-Dominant for their Brandywine strain.

Sunny, the main grower, says that he mainly looks for fruitiness when developing a strain. He has complete faith in his crew, and together they have a huge amount of expertise.

The company takes its name from the Hindi word Khush, which means happiness, and kush, a common slang word for cannabis. However, the word Kush originally referred to India’s Kush mountains and the indicas that have bene growing there for thousands of years.
