Lazy Bee Gardens

Lazy Bee Gardens is an award-winning producer of cannabis in Winthrop, WA. They are based upon the Methow River in Okanogan County.

Central to Lazy Bee Gardens’ beliefs is sustainable farming practices, so they grow their cannabis “the way nature intended”. This means that they use locally sourced organic soil amendments, mulches, and companion crops. Thanks to these growing techniques, they are able to significantly reduce the amount of organic material and water that is used during the growth cycle.

To improve the soil’s dynamic food web, they make Active Aerated Compost Teas (AACT), and after letting the tea steep for a few days they add the brew of probiotics to the soil. The microbes and fungi in the tea then establish themselves in the soil and improve the plant’s ability to assimilate the naturally occurring nutrients found in the soil. This all helps a living ecosystem to develop around the roots, and a larger food chain develops. At the top of the food chain are worms and their castings provide aeration, nitrogen and other nutrients that promote strong, healthy plants.

As well as practicing sustainable, permaculture-based cultivation, Lazy Bee Gardens also source phenotypes with complex terpene profiles. Terpenes are what give plants their smell and taste and they are responsible for the “entourage effect” which give strains their unique characteristics. The company also takes a great deal of care over curing the flowers. The buds are dried slowly to ensure maximum flavor and potency. Thanks to this, as soon as a package from Lazy Bee Gardens is open, the room is immediately flooded with a strong smell.

Lazy Bee Gardens have cultivated a line of hearty, fragrant and intensely psychoactive cannabis strains. They are more than twenty carefully selected varietals in production, and strains to suit every taste and need.

The company has won numerous awards in recent years including at the 2018 DOPE Cup for “Best Sun Grown Sativa Flower” (Tesla Tower), “Best Sun Grown Hybrid Flower” (Jack of Spades) and Runner-Up “Best Sun Grown Indica Flower” (Grandma Anderson’s Cookies). At the 2018 Sun Cup they won the “Best CBD Dab” (Lilly CBD Sap) and “Best CO2 Concentrate” (Tangie EVFO).
