AK-48 is an indica-dominant hybrid that is vastly different from the similarly named AK-47. The strain was first developed by Nirvana Seeds, a Dutch company that has more than four decades of experience in the cannabis industry. AK-48 is a cross between Jock Horror and Ice, both of which were also developed by Nirvana Seeds.
For a variety of reasons, AK-48 has become one of the more popular strains to grow at home (where it is legal to do so). The main reason is that for a beginner, the strain is very easy to look after and requires hardly any attention. Furthermore, when it is grown outdoors, the plant has a flowering period of just 7 to 8 weeks and it produces a good yield of up to 500 grams per square meter of plant.
The plant is not particularly interesting to look at. The buds are shades of dark and light green, but there are some orange hairs and trichomes that liven it up. However, it is a wonderful smelling strain packed with scents such as blueberry, pineapple and mango. As soon as you open your packet of AK-48, you are hit full force by the bouquet of aromas.
