Amnesia Haze is a sativa-dominant hybrid that is more likely to inspire you than do any damage to your memory. It is composed from a cross of the strain Haze and a number of different landraces from across the world including Thai, Hawaiian and Afghani. Thanks to the Afghani indica in the strain’s genetics, it produces a well-balanced and cerebral high.
The Amnesia Haze found today normally comes from two sources, First Medical Seed and Soma Seeds, the Amsterdam-based company that produced strains such as Lavender. Amnesia Haze is a highly successful strain, it won first place in the 2004 Cannabis Cup and Best Sativa in the 2012 Cannabis Cup. On average, the strain has a THC content of 20% up to 25%.
It has dense flowers that show signs of both indica and sativa structures. While the buds are tightly packed, they are more tapered and conical than round. The cured buds have a greenish-yellow tint with rust coloured pistils standing out against the leaves.
Amnesia Haze’s phenotypes can vary; some have more cloudy white trichomes than others do. The psychoactive potency also varies. The flowers have a lemony tang with some earthiness underneath. When the buds are broken up, they have a faint spice smell. The smoke is smooth when inhaled and the taste is typical of Haze strains, with a spicy and citrusy flavour.
Amnesia Haze displays many of the best qualities of both indica and sativa strains. The high hits almost immediately, inducing cerebral thinking and a sudden heightened awareness of surroundings. This can lead to a euphoric state of mind and users should also find more energy to accomplish tasks. However, there is also the relaxation typical of indica strains. This combination makes the strain a good choice for activities that combine the mind and body. It has been used medicinally to help with attention deficit disorders and it is also a strong appetite stimulant. The strain has a strong high that tends to last longer than average.
To grow Amnesia Haze outdoors you need a hot climate with temperatures of between 72 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It grows easily indoors as it tends to spread horizontally rather than vertically. The plants have a bushy structure that do not normally exceed 3 or 4 feet. However, the strain takes a very long time to mature with plants flowering within ten to twelve weeks. They can be grown from seeds or from clippings taken to produce clones. Once they have flowered, the plants yield around 60 grams per square foot.
Amnesia Haze is quite a rare strain due to its long flowering time, but it is extremely popular. It provides an even and well-balanced high that is suited to many different situations. It is not recommended as an evening smoke as it is likely to leave you energised, but it is perfect for use during the day.
