A Sativa-Dominant Hybrid from High and Lonesome Seeds

Appalachia is a sativa-dominant strain of cannabis that was developed in Colorado by High and Lonesome Seeds. It is a cross between Green Crack and the Afghani-descended Tres Dawg. It is a pungent strain with average THC levels of 16% to 21%.

Appalachia’s flowers are large and elongated. The leaves are a dull green with vibrant orange pistils and white trichomes on the inner and outer surfaces of the flowers, making it a very difficult strain to break up by hand. After curing, the flowers smell of overripe fruit, similar to parent strain Green Crack. When broken up, there are hash-like smells. When smoked it produces a smooth smoke that tastes skunky and herbal.

The strain provides a fast hitting high that will leave you smiling. Many say that it changes sensory perception, particularly sight and sound, while at the same time, it can make you analytical. As such, many find it helpful when tackling difficult problems or projects. Appalachia also leaves many feeling euphoric and sociable. It has very few physical effects and couchlock is very rare, making it a good choice for morning and afternoon use.

The sativa properties also make Appalachia popular with medicinal users. It can help with headaches and nausea as well as stress and depression. Furthermore, those with attention disorders find that it can help them focus on a single task. However, it is not recommended for those who are prone to panic.

Appalachia seeds cannot be purchased online, but it is possible to obtain clippings to grow clones. It can be grown indoors and outside in a warm and semi-humid climate. Indoors, it will likely need trimming and pruning early in the vegetative stage.
