Ash is an indica-dominant hybrid strain created by Mr. Nice Seedbank by combining Afghani Skunk and Afghani Haze. It is a strain that combines the pungency and psycho-activeness of its parent strains, resulting in a heavy body high and THC levels of 15% up to 20%.
Ash’s flowers are small to medium-sized with leaves that are a mossy green and decorated with curly orange pistils. The buds are covered with a coat of amber trichomes, which gives the plant a slightly golden glow. When they are cured properly, Ash has a tangy, lemony scent with undertones of skunk. Grinding the buds releases the hash smell of the Afghani heritage. When burnt, the smoke is harsh with hints of spice and pepper on the exhale.
It normally takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the effects of Ash to be felt after smoking. The first sign is increased pressure in the head followed by a dreamy feeling during which sights and sounds may be distorted. It is a strain better suited for relaxing on the couch than anything physical. As the high continues, users may feel as if they are melting into their surroundings and couchlock is more than likely. In a group setting, Ash can be a great way to relax together at the end of a long day. With such strong sedative properties, Ash is of course best suited to evening use.
These properties can also make it beneficial medicinally. It has been known to help with stress, depression and anxiety. It can also relieve physical pains such as headaches and cramps. As it is a hunger inducing strain, it may also help with appetite problems. Furthermore, it is often used to help with sleep.
Ash seeds may be bought online and it can easily be grown indoors. The plant has a flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks and it can yield as much as 56 grams per square foot of plant.
