Bediol is a sativa cannabis strain that was developed for its high CBD count. It is one of a number of proprietary strains produced by Bedrocan, a Dutch cannabis company dedicated to the science of cannabis and its medical uses.
The strain was developed to have a 1:1 THC-CBD ratio and when it was first developed, in 2007, it was one of the very first strains with this property. However, Bediol’s genetics are unknown, as Bedrocan does not publish them.
It is a strain that is often prescribed to patients that would benefit from CBD but are sensitive to THC. The nugs are fluffy and almost circular with mint green colours. They are covered in bright, fuzzy orange pistils with a thick coating of crystal trichomes. The flower has a pleasant aroma of citrus with hints of pine and herbs. The flavour is similar with a hint of sweet and sour citrus.
Thanks to the strains 1:1 THC-CBD ratio, the high from Bediol is quite mellow and suitable for first time users. Despite being a sativa, the effects are usually described as pain relieving rather than heady. It will dispel negativity and set you up for a positive day. While it can make some users feel a little sleepy, the dominant effects are creative energy and focus, and it is unlikely that you will actually fall asleep. However, it is well known for producing the munchies, so be sure to have snacks at hand.
The strain is used world over by medicinal users for a variety of ailments including arthritis, depression, anxiety, and more.
