A Rare Indica Dominant Hybrid Strain

Black Afghan is a very rare Indica dominant strain, born out of crossing OG Kush with 76 Afghani and Black Domina strains. By their powers combined, this bud offers the user an awesome, full-bodied relaxation.

This beauty’s name derives from its super dark, almost black, buds. Each of these heavy buds have dense, extremely tight grape-shaped, blackish nugs, with dark amber hairs and a sprinkling of clear crystal resinous trichomes, making them sticky to the touch. The flowers give off a deep, musky aroma, evocative of damp leaves and soil. When the nugs are broken apart, scents of rich earthy spices are released with a woody overtone that can be quite sweet. The flavours one gets from Black Afghan have a very peppery and spicy kick that transforms into a fruity and slightly sweet taste on the exhale.

As with all indica dominant strains, the high from Black Afghan comes on very gradually, beginning initially with a cerebral and analytical wave, before its physical effects may start to settle in. Once they do, your body will be filled with gentle ripples of pure calm and bliss. This feeling will, inevitably, be followed by a relaxing body high that is not too sedative.

Thanks to these effects and its high CBD level of 4-5% and THC level of 22%, Black Afghani is said to be an ideal choice for treating appetite loss, migraines or headaches, chronic pain, fatigue, and stress.

Unfortunately for the enthusiastic grower, seeds of Black Afghan are not readily available for online purchase. The best option is to obtain clippings of mature plants of the strain. These can be propagated as genetically identical “clones” and may thrive indoors or out. They reach maturity within a short 8 to 9 weeks when grown indoors.
