Hailing from British Columbia, a land of wondrous vistas and cold crisp air, and the brilliant minds at 5 Star Organic, comes Black Tuna. This mighty bud is an evenly balanced strain, created by the crossing of Lamb’s Bread and Herojuana, and packs a powerful 22-26% average THC level, making for an extremely robust and potent high. The name originates from Black Tuna Gang that was well-known for the smuggling of Colombian marijuana in the 1970s in the United States. To keep with the image, Black Tuna strain was sold in tuna cans.
The buds of Black Tuna are compact, covered in trichomes and carry a strong smell. The colour of Black Tuna is rich sage green with shades of darker green and also hints of purple. Thankfully, it doesn’t smell of fish, but leans toward funky and almost putrid. The flavours are rich in spice and tartness and quite intoxicating.
The high begins relatively easy going, giving the user a euphoric feeling along with being suddenly happy and aroused. This cerebral rush ebbs and flows through the high that can sometimes last for hours.
Because of its narcotic and sedative effects, Black Tuna is beneficial for sufferers of chronic pain, pain due to injury, inflammation, and insomnia. The munchies is another side-effect, and as a result makes this strain great for the treatment of anorexia and lack of appetite. Mental health issues and other mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, stress, bipolar, and some mild cases of PTSD are also alleviated by Black Tuna.
Unfortunately, seeds of Black Tuna are hard to come by and most grow information is deemed classified.
As a result of its strong narcotic, sedative and potent effects, Black Tuna is not recommended for beginner or moderate users.
