The method used, Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE-CO2) brings versatility when pinpointing the components to extract from a material and it leaves almost no residual solvent in the end product as any remaining CO2 simply evaporates.

The method is becoming more popular in the high-growth sector of plant substances used in nutraceuticals and food supplements. These industries require exceptionally high levels of purity and Landrace Labs believe that conventional extraction methods are simply not good enough.
The Closed Loop System (CLS) extractors that Landrace Labs use recover gases more efficiently and bring more stability to the process. The supercritical extraction begins with a cylinder of CO2 or similar gas. The gas is fed into a pump in a liquid state and it is then sent through a pressure vessel. The vessel is full with the cannabis material intended for extraction. The gas, which is at this point saturated with extract, is then de pressurized into a separator vessel. This causes the extract to fall out and the gas to leave the vessel. Normally the CO2 will be vented off and the extract recovered.
Thanks to this process, there are no residuals, additives or hydrocarbons in Landrace Labs’ products. The extracts are pure and clean which results in better flavors and aromas, and they claim that they are superior to traditional BHO products in the dab market.
